Mercy, yes. And now those passages the good doctor had the delicacy to record in Latin have been put into English, which ought to take the book even farther beyond professional circles. The introduction by Ernest van den Haag is a well written critique of Krafft-Ebing's work and the place it holds in pre-Freudian psychiatric literature.
