This is definitely a how-to-do book, and ""valuable as such."" Two instructors of the Traphagen School of Fashion, now owners of a fashion studio, present the details of procedure, techniques of drawing figures and fabrics, conveying sense of color in black and white, using actual color, and designing textiles. Some space is given to the history of costume. Some to the creation of effective poster designs. And the last part of the book gives due recognition to the importance of style, suitability, the sale of designs and drawings -- and a glossary of terms. Fully illustrated. Excellent book for those interested in adapting commercial art to practical needs.
