The kicker: ""If a girl's primary goal is to marry someone from whom she can derive status and economic security, she certainly should focus on becoming a professional woman."" In a recent study of professional women, they note ""100 percent of the sample were married. Forty percent of the dentists, 51 percent of the attorneys, and 68 percent of the physicians had married men in the same profession."" Seems like a lot of trouble to go through to be sure your kid marries a doctor.
