KIRKUS REVIEW

It has fur like a cat, eyes like a teddy bear, a tail like a monkey and the curiosity and urge for play associated with the raccoon. Barnaby is a kinkajou from Central and South America) and the grave danger in showing these photographs to children or adults is that you may have to spend hours explaining to them (and to yourself) why they (and you) can't have a kinkajou. The photographs are large -- one to a page and as clear as an ex-Life photographer can make them. The text is short, serving to explain what it is that Barnaby is up to at the Vandiverts' apartment. Barnaby is a new experience in housepets and the pictures capture him at his winning best.
