When the cast is finally removed from his broken wrist, Drew discovers that he has miraculously become a talented artist, and begins a comic book loosely based on the adventures of his beloved daredevil older brother, Kyle. This enterprise earns him both money and local fame, but the attentions of two local bullies and Kyle's serious accident, which one of them may have caused, put a damper on his new life. A flimsy, unsatisfying ending won't dissuade the chapter-book set from checking out this combination novel and comic book. The story is alternately exciting and funny without feeling forced, while the humorous illustrations and comic-book pages detailing the adventures of ``Super Agent Mason Stone'' perfectly augment the text. (Fiction. 7-10)
