KIRKUS REVIEW

Boats and sailing- and the free life of the Florida east coast for 13-year old Candy. She seems a thoroughly self-reliant youngster, and her parents are enviably agreeable to keeping hands off. Result- she gets mixed up with a mysterious doctor who gives her his beautiful sailboat after hers is wrecked; a miserly old man who loves flowers; an orphan blind boy. After some exciting adventures in sailing- at which Robb White is a master- Candy is instrumental in bringing her friends together. The surgeon cures the boy's blindness, and all ends neatly. Uneven- and not Robb White's best. But entertaining.
