Leslie, a sensible twenty-one-year-old, sees in her career as an airline hostess the fulfillment of every romantic dream. Not only will she make the glamorous Hollywood run, but she will be in constant contact with the cosmopolitan world of travelers, serving in an important official capacity. Leslie gets her dose of glamour, but more than that she gets that thorough training in grooming, deportment, and diplomacy basic to the proper performance of her duties. And finally Leslie is able to relinquish the romance of her career for the sake of a more intimate romance, a romance with a young Air Force man which will ultimately terminate in marriage. The heroine, despite her various activities, hardly gets off the ground. She remains a static figure about whom is woven much specific and interesting detail regarding the training and functions of one of the most sought after jobs a young woman can hope to attain.
