THE SUNNY CARIBEES by Robert Bayley

THE SUNNY CARIBEES

By

Publisher: Duell, Sloan & Pearce

Robert Bayley wrote this book because he felt it was the one he and his wife needed to travel in the Caribbean. His estimate of a little history, ""some idea of the people and their culture, their recreation, even their politics"" is a bit more ambitious than the actuality of his little pieces on the islands, however, many of which merely skim by tourist attractions and accommodations. He does make port in the lesser known harbors, however, and this gives his book some interest. The appendix, which gives statistics on size, population, annual rainfall, average temperature, restaurants, night spots, best buys, game fish, local and distance transportation, is really the heart of The Sunny Caribees and is practically helpful.
