A short collection of poems by a young American poet, a native of the state of Michigan, who died prematurely at the age of 28, in 1940. This verse has a certain freshness, sincerity and concreteness. It is full of the vigorous imagery of the North Star country, and has a Scotch integrity and zeal. What it lacks in deep poetic gift it makes up in earnestness. It is a genuine, if minor, contribution to the many faceted crystal that is contemporary American poetry.
