A snowballing of nonsensical incidents whips up into a farce which is ingenious practically all the way. Getting German girls married to the Americans stationed at Fuggerminken is the successful project of Frau Martha Pomerantz-Toohey and the arrival of 5,000 men of the Sixty Eighth Regiment rounds up lots of new clients for her, among them Sigrid and Greta, and keeps her busy in headquarters files in her job with Col. Alexander Walters, who is bucking for a brigadiership. Sgt. Willis Kling with his cameras and Corp. Ed Meeks however get first choice and pick Sigrid and Greta, who luckily decide on them, and through Kling's photographs and Marta's Plan the four start things moving. Walters approves a picnic to promote friendliness, Marta supplies the girls, Kling photographs with an eye on Life or Look and the discovery of Marta's organizing the men for her girls crushes Walters' growing interest in her. With the picture story sold to both magazines, the publicity brings the three females world wide proposals, reduces the men to offering marriage to get their choices -- and the driver's seat for the ladies. Broad, buffooned burlesque for the undemanding.
