VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE FOR BOYS

With increasing interest through the educational world and in youth agencies in guidance programs for preparation for vocations, this book should prove a useful outline of constructive value. While Mr. Coles' work as director of guidance in the Worcester, Massachusetts, Boys' Club throws him with boys, the basic plan of the book itself would adapt itself equally well to work with girls. It is not a vocational guide. An excellent bibliography suggests further study along those lines. But it does present the case for vocational guidance, define the aims, outline the steps for launching a program, and analyze the techniques of group and individual counselling, of aptitude testing, of tryouts, and of follow-up work. A good job.
