THE WORLD'S LIVING RELIGIONS

To compare one of the world's living religions to another (there are eleven of them) is a favorite gesture of many who do not profess to have any religion of their own; they use real or fancied similarities found in many as an excuse for not embracing any. Access to such a book as this makes the use of hearsay and misinformed prejudice in religions arguments completely inadmissable. Dr. Robert Hume, in this revision of his book on The World's Living Religions gives a fair, accurate, and informed description and evaluation of the faiths by which men now live, and to read this book is to be once more able to make comparisons that are bolstered up by truth. The author, of course, believes that Christianity alone among the religions of the world teaches a basis broad enough for a genuinely universal religion, while it conserves the best in the others. Students, teachers, and libraries will find this volume indispensable.
