Ten golden oldies (eight from the '50's) about alien invasions, including the editor's own 1969 Hugo award winner ""Nightwings"" -- that one about the Watcher, a toothsome Tinkerbell flier, and a mysterious changeling. There's also a fine clutch of aliens: Knight's edgy Martians; Tenn's destructive Dendis and Troxxts; Kornbluth's sinister green capsules; Leinster's chortling mini-monster dressed in lion's clothing; MacLean's doomed friendlies who must be sought with a magnifying glass; Van Vogt's space travelers who can resurrect human life; Aldiss' ""Huge God""; Wollheim's gases; and Dick's sanimen. You've read them before but it's nice to have them in one volume. Classics all.
