WHY YOUNG MOTHERS FEEL TRAPPED

Do you wonder where the yellow went... Only her hairdresser knows... Oh no, it's SOS blue. Really blue? Well, as the Harvard School of Public Health noted, these confessional-commentaries have a definite tenor of ""loneliness and isolation"" which as any admass missus knows underlies the ""slice of life"" commercial. Ibsen knew it too- and Betty Friedans- it's that bit about being safety pinned in a doll's house. This ""Redbook documentary"" consists of 32 answers (there were 50,000) to an article they ran to which the book title belongs, and all kinds of young women have given their feelings about coping with in-laws, moving to a new community (it might be a prairie town or the Fiji Islands), careers- his and hers, debts, husbands, children and homemaking which is as hurried and harried a business as it ever was. Then too there's the problem of finding yourself in this split level existence. However all of them have found some way of handling it so that the woman's work that is never done does provide an affirmative satisfaction. It is all identifiable and effortlessly readable.
