'COPTER COWBOY

A bronc riding accident prevents a very determined young man, Steve Warner, from earning enough money in the rodeo to save Wagon Tack, the family ranch, from financial ruin. Refusing to abandon hope, Steve latches on to an overtly outlandish, but basically sensible scheme. He trades in his small airplane for a helicopter and embarks on a plan of modern ranching, using the 'copter for driving and herding cattle. His father, brother and sister-in-law are skeptical, but Steve perseveres until a cattle theft and a sabotage attempt set him on a new goal. His sister-in-law's presence near the scene of sabotage causes him some uncomfortable suspicions, but an emergency situation clears them up. The thief is apprehended and Steve can again trust his family and bolster their confidence in the ranch. Contrivances of plot and a heavy dose of melodrama, are somewhat offset by D. S. Halacy's sure knowledge of aircraft and aviation. Boys with a yen for Steve Warner's ""thrilling"" life will find it satisfying.
