POWER TO KILL by Robert Hichens

The Paradine Case set new records for a psychological murder story last year, and is selling still. This does not quite measure up in its appeal to the mystery audience, but it is a rattling good tale, and evolves an interesting theory of the potential murderer in each one of us, if once we discover the existence in us of a ""power to kill"". To develop this theme, Hichens has taken a passionate woman, determined to secure the man she considers her mate, no matter what agencies intervene --and he has traced her efforts to achieve her end. The setting is London -- Naples -- Basle. Easy rental -- easy sales.
