After the game begins Hood works in explanations of ""jump ball"" and ""free throw,"" and from then on it's all play-by-play, with Eric and Carol cheering the home team's narrow victory though readers won't care a fig for that anonymous five. The rundown might serve those who go to books for sports briefings (and it will take a bookish type to bother with those appended questions).
