Primarily designed to focus attention upon the vast needs of orphans the world over, this warm and genuine book is the story of an elderly couple, (grandparents several times over, but still so young at heart) who take in six foster children to recapture the youthful love and laughter which faded as their own children grew up and left home. Mr. Hyde and his wife show endless imagination and energy, resourcefulness and humor, patience and insight -- but above all, love -- in the home which they create for six half Mexican children whose parents were either incapable or undesirous (perhaps both) of being parents. The author neither minimizes nor magnifies the trials and the joys of the situation. In short, he paints no tinted picture of a foster home -- rather one which shows unmistakably the problems and pleasures which constitute the love and happiness of a family which exemplifies the mutual benefit which is so easily accessible and so direly needed in the world of unwanted and neglected children.
