A stylish 19th century sequel--Mary Shelley's Monster was left stranded in the Arctic--which has the creator's son Victor Saville coerced into following in his father's vivifying footsteps. Once the budding M.D. discovers his true surname--""the sole remaining spark of that frantic energy, that kind and tortured man who had looked into the very vortex of the universe and had alone succeeded in imitating God and Nature""--Franky Jr. is torn between a desire to avenge his old man's murder and a wish to repeat his experiments. After being commissioned to manufacture synthetic blood, Victor and his true love Felicia are kidnapped and taken to a cave in Virginia where the wounded ""Daemon"" awaits a transfusion. The plot is subsequently only slightly less murky than the purplish hemoglobin substitute he concocts--the Monster himself plans to revive the Reverend Ritter's pestilence-stricken congregation, while a rival faction intends to dispose of the original Fiend and replace him with a new order of hulks to protect the environment. For Perils of Pauline-Frankenstein fans who still get turned on by that old body electric.
