FESTIVALS U.S.A.

The author runs Festival Information Service and a fairly careful search through this book about the 1200 festivals celebrated annually in the U.S.A. would indicate that there is virtually nothing he has missed. Geographically, his ""tour"" of the states, starts with Maine, comes down to Virginia and West Virginia, swings west, through the middle states, on to the northwest, the California coastline, and back through the southwest, the deep south, and on to the Carolinas. The festivals range from logging contests to deep sea fishing, from flowers to music, religion, historical and hero celebrations, national festivals and fiestas. Sports hold perhaps top ranking, with historical next, scenic, seasonal, and so on, varying from region to region. Baby parades and Miss America contests, crab picking, cheese day, fiddlers contest- wide range of regional and travel value.
