Sadie Shapiro, the septuagenarian Little Yente Annie, having become the idol from millions (a knitting book success and the ""Tonight Show""--Sadie Shapiro's Knitting Book, 1973), now addresses her relentless Molly Goldberg cheerios to the needs of senior citizens. Sadie and husband Sam (who has a head cold called ""Harvey,"" kineahora) are lured south to assist in the launch of a Miami project called Senior World, which Sadie envisions with trees, old movies, and golf carts for everyone. But the promoter toddles off with the money, leaving Sadie to face trial as a possible conspirator. She makes bubkes of the opposition and charms gelt from all over--plus the willing toil of retired construction workers. Oh yes, she matchmakes too. Sadie, who slathers her advice and piledriver cuteness yiddische-mama-lade fashion, is not everyone's bromide, but undemanding senior insomniacs might while away the small hours with a smile or two.
