THE GONDOLIER OF VENICE

If you're amused by a Venice inhabited solely by mice (and scaled to their size) and a gondolier named Gregory who plys his oar to the tune of ""O Solo Mouse-O!""--then you might find something clever in Gregory's plan to save the city from sinking: he gets all the other gondoliers to buoy up the buildings with corks and then lasso them so they won't float away. As for us, we're relieved that the latest word makes Gregory's efforts unnecessary: Venice is rising.
