KIRKUS REVIEW

This little chronicle of a policeman's life is just as sordid as the Daily Enquirer wrapped around the evening's leftovers. Assorted murder, muggings, arson, theft, etc. are part of the cases which Lieutenant Clancy reappears to solve: a supposed suicide; the murder of a wealthy recluse; an attempted assassination of a U.N. diplomat; the rehabilitation of a young punk; and the exposure of a crooked cop. This police blotter needs less stamp, much more think.
