KIRKUS REVIEW

This volume of sermons by a well-known Scottish divine deals primarily with such well-known hindrances to the Christian life as spiritual pride, unbelief, sleep, apathy, procrastimation, but emphasizes, too, on the positive side, faith, worship, intersession, evangelism, obedience and ""the fire of the Kely Spirit"". These are distinctly sermons for these in the faith. Couched in the familiar, traditional language of the church, they are net apt to arrest the attention of these outside of the church, at least not in the United States.
