A series of twelve chapters, presumably sermons, offer exposition on phrases from the Prayer of General Confession. The development is supported by further exposition of Biblical passages and illustrations and by instances offered from experience and from literature. The result is a helpful and deepening understanding of the Confession and its relevance to daily life. The style is communicative and interesting. Dedication is to the author's former parishioners of St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Berkeley, California.
