A WINTER TIDE by Robert Nathan Kirkus Star

A WINTER TIDE

Pub Date: Sept. 9th, 1940

The first poetry from Robert Nathan in five years, two sonnet sequences and then a group of poems dealing with the world of today, a world of violence and warfare and exile. The title of the collection is drawn from the first sonnet sequence, a winter which sees no spring ahead. The second cycle is in soft, pastoral mood. Really quite lovely poetry, with a certain classical simplicity and grace, keyed to eye and ear rather than thought.
