For the time is the present, and on Halloween Lucifer comes down to earth with his secretary, Samantha, intent on finding an innocence he can corrupt. There they attend a party, discover some discontented mortals who cannot escape loneliness- even when they love, and in Mary Ann, young and untouched, Lucifer finds a target. But before the evening is over, and the state of the world is touched on if left unresolved, Satan is defeated, and Samantha seduces a Mr. Kinney who is charred to ashes... Mr. Nathan brooding, laterally rather than longitudinally, and a puff-paste philosophy for his public.
