This ""dawn"" is the New Age of Enlightenment that will supposedly be ushered in once one percent of the world's population starts practicing the Transcendental Meditation Technique. At this point crime rates start dropping, the government starts responding to the will of the people, the lion may even lay down with the lamb. The question of whether the New Age will actually usher in these phenomena will be moot, however, if there are many more books like this ""authorized"" drivel about the Maharishi getting on and off planes, uttering inanities at banquets, and taking his awed followers on boat rides in the middle of picturesque Swiss lakes. Unfortunately only a small part of the book is devoted to the impressive physiological studies that substantiate at least certain aspects of TM's claims to a state of relaxed awareness, and these are presented in the same kind of glazed baby talk--evidently the TM practitioner's sole method of communicating with the great unwashed. With friends like this, who needs enemies?
