KIRKUS REVIEW

Random and racy ruminations in occasional notes take off from news in the papers to family doings, opinions and ideas to current and recent projects, and reflect one man's intimate thinking. ""What the hell is going on?"" is the root of his search which brings astronauts, Cuba, drain pipes, streets and stores, the profession of writing, the immoralities of our time, censorship and every other kind of immediate- and personal -- event into observation. Sharp to acrid, funny to maddened, this lacks the drawling pace of a Will Rogers but accompanies its running fire with the philosophy that ""people are the only things in the world that matter a damn"" and keeps the all too human touch throughout. The author of Where Did You Go.....argues validity, logically and sincerely, and should provoke and stimulate even the most casual reader.
