THE STORY OF THE NAVAL ACADEMY

The United States Naval Academy is reviewed historically in this factual and competent text. Beginning with its inception in 1848 when it boasted no more than fifty students and eight faculty members, the author traces its development and gives an account, not only of the various aspects the academy life presented, but also of the many obstacles which confronted it and its members. Despite a meticulous regard for accuracy, Felix Riesenberg manages to maintain a traditionally dashing aura about his subject which does much to brighten his considerable display of information.
