PETE PACK RAT AND THE GILA MONSTER GANG

With the wanted Gila Monster Gang robbing Pebble Junction's bank and capturing sheriff Sally Gopher, Pete Pack Rat and the deputies hightail it out to the old mine where the gang is holed up--and where Sally, trying to escape, has become trapped in a tunnel full of previously undiscovered gold. Pete, who knows a secret back entrance to the mine, saves Sally and the gold by smoking out the gang with firecrackers and netting them on exit with bunting--all to the tune of the rabbit twins' corny gila monster jokes. More comic book doings in easy-reading format--but bathed in a monochromatic mauve that the comics wouldn't stand for.
