KIRKUS REVIEW

In appearance an all-red counterpart to Pete Pack Rat (below), this negligible mystery-cum-craft project features Mr. Snow Bunting, new in town, who opens a giftwrap shop and has everyone except grouchy Mr. Dog admiring his beautiful bows. Strangely, Mr. Snow Bunting plans to close his shop in November to go North for the winter, and Mr. Dog, sniffing out a pointed red cap behind the shopkeeper's curtain, suspects that the bows are created by sorcery. But it turns out that Snow Bunting is really one of Santa's helpers, and so good-natured that he shares his bow-tying secret with Mr. Dog. For readers, directions are appended, but they'd be better placed in a Hallmark handout.
