BLOCKING BACK

More chicanery in professional football with a noble hero who scores heavily on the gamblers. Johnny Marsh, losing out on a promised job in marine architecture upon his graduation from college, and faced with the expenses of his mother's operation, signs with shifty-eyed Frank Gates, coach of the New York Bisons at half the salary he was previously offered. He finds himself backing plays for Curt Saunders, who was in the habit of pushing Johnny into the background, even in college. However, an overheard conversation convinces Johnny that Curt and Gates are in on a gambling racket, and a final game in which Johnny does some fast thinking and clever playing nooses the pair. Could do with more football.
