BALL HAWK

By

Publisher: Lothrop, Lee & Shepard

The author of Winning Pitch and Player Manager has again presented the situation of a young player facing obstacles on the baseball trail and coming through. Jerry Harriman had been dropped from the roster of the New York Bears and joined a minor league team in Texas. After a toughening and seasoning process which changes a hot-headed rookie into a mature player and worker for the team, Jerry is picked up again by the Boston Lions and makes the grade on the big league team. ""..everybody plays right up until the last hour or it isn't baseball"". These words of Pug Brody, former teammate of Jerry on the Bears and manager of the Texas team, were part of the advice which together with hard work and discipline, gave Jerry the start on his second chance. Good baseball, easy style and engaging characters- should find a large spring market.
