Cettysberg and Stalingrad are the latest in the 15 historic battles chosen for this collection. The book comes up in time from the Battle of Marathon, followed by Hannibal's downfall, Octavian's victory and on to those of Adrianople, Tours, Hastings, Orleans, Lepanto, Blenheim and Waterloo. The New World is represented by The Battle of the Plains of Abraham and The Battle of Valcour Island. And, of course, The Spanish Armada goes down to defeat again. Almost all of these battles have recognition value to the beginning student of history.
