VOCATIONS FOR GIRLS

By

Publisher: Harcourt, Brace

A completely revised edition of this career staple first published in 1939. Covering a wide variety of fields, the authors investigate the many positions open to girls in Health, Business, Social Work, Science and Engineering, Literature and Art, Farm and Home, and Government Work, in each case pointing out the qualities necessary to fulfill the requirements. Unfortunately, however, we feel that the hazards and exact preparation requirements in some professions -- medicine, newspaper reporting, farming, are too lightly passed over. Of course, this is a bird's-eye view, and the bibliography of books treating each occupation in of great value in tracking down more specific information.
