Dr. Brodey explains ""a new and promising form of psychotherapy"" the publishers have not seen fit to further define. Perhaps because it's impalpable. Dr. Brodey is a family therapist and oscillates on a rather subtle frequency: he believes in being ""in contact""--an abstraction he develops for the full (if rather slight--150 pages or so) length of this book: contact is a ""communication process and information exchange."" ""A man's touch resting on the skin of his female partner receives information from the skin he touches with."" Ad ungrammatical and immaterial infinitum. Families establish their contact interpersonally and change, evolve. A tacit togetherness is achieved. Dr. Brodey establishes contact with them, with you? an attuned you?
