JULIE ANDREWS

Not a new book, but an updated, revised version of Windeler's Julie Andrews (1970, Putnam)--which, though it touched on Julie's marital woes, psychoanalysis, and insecurities, was (and remains) a valentine/PR-release sort of celeb-biography. The new material (about 20 pages) picks up Julie at the rime of her biggest failure, Darling Lili: she round little attractive work opportunities thereafter, but, married at lest to Blake Edwards, ""Julie found that her drive to succeed wasn't nearly so great as it had been for most of her life."" Still, there was a critically successful TV show (but lousy ratings), charity work, nightclubs. . . then the films for Edwards (10, S.O.B., Victor/Victoria), ""calculated to put Mary Poppins to test forever."" And now, ""after twelve years of her second marriage and her expanded family life, Juhe's priorities"" are clear at last: family first, work second. As with the 1970 edition: chiefly for a small, fan-mag-level readership.
