There's not much to be said for or against this-it's been scripted with the Knebel readership in mind and even if set in Latafundia, one of those South American little countries you've never heard of, you've still been there. Along with Aspinwall, American Ambassador, who has been asked by President Demasiado to back (with a billion dollars of foreign aid) his dreams of a new capital. Otherwise-here come the Russians with their handout. Before this is over, Demasiado has been ousted with the help of the C.I.A. and the Ambassador's shifty assistant whose tie clip is a hearing aid-but our upstanding American remains firm on his beliefs and commitments. A little obliging obligatory sex along the way. . . Es regular.
