KIRKUS REVIEW

Lawrie's lesson on how cars work has less competition than the one on airplanes, above, and even kids who don't take to the bad guy/good guy second half (about all Mr. Brown's near disasters and his car's eventual breakdown because he doesn't care for it like Mr. Smith does his), can appreciate the straight information provided in the first fourteen pages of text and pictures. Zappy cutaway drawings of the car and engine and close-ups of specifics illustrate the functional once-over of working parts from carburetor to suspension system.
