Jules Archer has already given us a much more complete summary of the whole Watergate business (KR, p. 613 (J-219). This shorter version doesn't go into too much detail about the crimes and the coverup, and when McKown tries for humor and human interest the descriptive strokes are too broad. (Ulasewicz, for example, is described as a man who ""looked something like Alfred Hitchcock but spoke with a New York accent""). There is still probably enough here on the official proceedings--the Ervin hearings, the Judiciary Committee deliberations, the Supreme Court decision--to satisfy students, even if it adds nothing except some optimistic hindsight to what they already remember from the headlines. Functional.
