The simple, mostly wholesome recipes are sure to appeal to children--especially with names like ""green eye pie"" (grapes and sour cream), ""bubbling cauldron chili,"" or ""witch's hair slaw."" Luscious-looking food is featured in the color photos at the beginning of each section, which also suggest additional decorations like plastic figures; in addition to clear diagrams for the craft projects, Susan Slattery Burke contributes a comical cluck and alligator that appear from time to time.
