KIRKUS REVIEW

Charles Leithan is lovelessly tied to his wife, Evadne, through a kink in his father's will and Evadne is a signally graceless woman, interested only in the ogs she breeds and shows. When Evadne disappears, no corpus is to be delictiust her belongings and one of the dogs (the only one Charles liked), and although Charles is brought to trial, the testimony of the young woman he loves helps clear him.... Lots of questions asked- and left unanswered- to the end of a tantalizing conjectural case.
