POSTHISTORIC MAN

This is an inquiry into the great basic problems, adjustments and accommodations-in depth as well as in extent--that have confronted man during his evolutionary historic, or transitional phases of development from savagery to civilization. It leads up to a glimpse at his possible future, should the posthistoric stage, of unchanging continuity when all individualism and individual genius will be subordinated to the mass, ever come to pass. With its arguments fully backed by quotations from leading authorities and scholars, and liberally foot-noted, this would make a top-rate doctoral thesis, but makes for tremendously difficult reading for the average layman.
