Using an uninhibited, cartoon-like style and a palette that recalls Khalsa's intense colors, Greenblat gives a comically exaggerated version of an American ritual: buying a secondhand car. Two kids join Uncle Wizzmo on his journey through a landscape as fantastic as the most garish commercial strip; they consider some riotously outlandish vehicles before settling on a snazzy blue convertible. The story is slight, and some may find the illustrations garish; but Greenblat's first picture book has real appeal for young car-lovers and for anyone with a taste for pop art.
