Cyrille Gentry's graceful pen and ink drawings are accompanied by several lines describing each animal and a general introduction to the modem zoo's research and breeding functions and a list of do's and don'ts for visitors. Since there's no key to the order in which the animals appear and many species seldom seen in zoos are included, this is not particularly suitable as a guidebook to carry along on a zoo visit. A nicely constructed catalogue -- which serves no obvious purpose.
