THE CHRISTMAS WHALE

An engaging book which grown-ups will enjoy with the children, and which should continue on through the holiday season as a Christmas gift book. In pictures on every page -- pictures in color and line and with a nice sense of story and yet uncluttered with detail -- and in running caption text, Roger Duvoisin tells the tale of the Christmas season when the reindeer were taken sick and ordered to bed, and when a mammoth whale volunteered to help Santa Claus deliver his gifts to all the seven seas. Nonsense tale with an original twist, and this time Duvoisin has succeeded in keeping his interest level right for the picture story book crowd.
