Although there's the familiar and companionable congress of such as Malzberg, Philip Jose Farmer, Lafferty, Poul Anderson, et al. gathered here, the product has a pulpy evanescence, pleasant but undemanding. Among the creature features: Farmer's amusing extension of the King Kong film; Anderson's reptiloid natives of an invaded Eden; and even some sentient alphabet blocks lined up by Lafferty. There are also some time and space travel oddments, futuristic societies, and an impressionistic doomsday transmogrification hinted at by Morio Kita. Omega work by some Alpha writers.
