BIG JACK

. . . was a rainbow trout spawned artificially at the state fish hatchery. Despite an irregular pectoral fin officials found him such a superb specimen that he was placed in Judge's Pool in the headwaters of the Connecticut River. As the reader follows the life cycle of Big Jack, his mating and fight for survival he sees a prototype of all prize trout, bred naturally or artificially.
