MON PREMIER DICTIONNAIRE

By

Publisher: World

This is the French counterpart of The Rainbow Dictionary amd the 2400 entries have been based on the vocabulary of that book. Dr. Pillet, Chairman of the Foreign Language Department, Laboratory School, at the University of Chicago has prepared the book with manifold motives (even as a potential ""graded reader""). The learning process is implemented in different ways--recognition with the help of the two, three, four or more spot pictures on each page; retention through repetition in the two or more definitions for each word. And, of course, when a word has more than one meaning, both are given. Occasionally grammar is indirectly introduced. In each definition, the word involved is in bold print so that it will saute aux yeux. There are 1000 illustrations, some full page, in many bright colors and all are graphic. Recommended for all school and public libraries in areas where foreign languages are being introduced early.
